Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin
The Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) has now been published. The LNRS is a statutory strategy prepared under the Environment Act 2021. It sets out shared priorities and locations for nature recovery across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, helping to guide coordinated action by local authorities, communities, landowners and partners. Butterfly and Moth Conservation Project Dates
Walks:
· Saturday 25th April 11am at Langley Fields LNR, meet on car park on Duce Drive, Dawley. Opposite Telford Langley School, TF4 3JS. Species: Emperor Moth, Green Hairstreak
· Tuesday 19th May, 11am at Granville Local Nature Reserve car park, TF2 7NB. Species: Dingy Skipper, Orange-tip, Common Blue, Cinnabar, Silver-line and Mother Shipton
· Tuesday 9th June, 11am at Apley Woods Local Nature Reserve. Meet at Peregrine Way, TF1 6TH. Species: Small Copper, Common Blue, Small Heath with an opportunity to learn about the successful Ghost Moth.
· Tuesday 9th June, 8:30pm at Apley Woods Local Nature Reserve, Moth trapping event.
· Wednesday 17th June 11am at Rough Park LNR, meeting location TBC.
· Saturday 18th July 11am – TBC
· Tuesday 21st July 11am – Telford Millenium Nature Reserve, TF2 6DF. Meet at the end of car park in Jenko’s off Beverely Road. Species: Ringlet, Gatekeeper, Common footman, Silver Y, Yellow Shell and more.
· Thursday 30th July 11am – Lloyds Coppice, meet at the Bedlam Furnaces car park, TF8 7QY. Species: Silver-washed Fritillary, possibly Hairstreaks
